Visit Korea Committee Holds Press Conference for Foreign Reporters

 

- Reporters from five Asian countries introduced to programs associated with Winter Olympics -

 

 

On July 3, the Visit Korea Committee (chaired by Park Sam-koo) held a press conference at the Foreign Press Center Korea for foreign reporters from five Asian countries. The press conference aimed to introduce the “2016–2018 Visit Korea Year” campaign and its programs conducted in line with the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Invited to Korea by the Korean Culture and Information Service, the twelve reporters from overseas media institutions of five countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan, learned about programs for the second year of the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year, such as the Korea Grand Sale and the KOREA TOUR CARD, which are specifically focused on the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The conference proceeded with a Q&A session and interviews; the reporters expressed their interest by asking questions about the programs associated with the 2018 Winter Olympics.

While staying in Korea from July 2nd to 7th, the reporters covered a variety of locations, including Bukchon Hanok Village, the MSIP Task Force Team for PyeongChang Olympics ICT Infrastructure, the Korean Food Foundation, SBS, the Visit Korea Committee, the Asia Culture Center, and drama production centers.

“The coverage of Korea by major Asian media outlets is a great opportunity to attract more foreign tourists in preparation for the upcoming PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games,” remarked Visit Korea Committee Secretary-General Han Kyung-ah. “We will continue to use the leverage of foreign coverage in publicizing different programs of the 2016–2018 Visit Korea Year,” she added.
