Daegu's Lantern Festival is a riot of fun and merrymaking that has been held since the days of the Silla Kingdom. It features a well established local tradition in which people hang strings of lights on poles in the streets to celebrate the Buddha's birthday. Visitors come from far and wide to see lanterns decorated with beautiful traditional designs of the Phoenix or Buddha floating down the river and folk plays. The festival's most popular activity consists in releasing lanterns into the night sky to create an unmissable spectacle. It is also highly recommended to try a dish of the local braised beef short ribs(available at a discount upon presentation of your KOREA TOUR CARD). |

The Boryeong Mud Festival is simply the greatest mud festival held worldwide. It appears that foreign visitors are more attracted to the fun activities held in swimming pools, water fountains, and massage parlors than the locals. Boryeong mud, which is particularly good for skin care, was approved by the US's FDA in 2004. Besides playing in the mud, you can enjoy a rock festival and EDM performances amid the festival's vibrant atmosphere. Don't miss the Boryeong Mud Festival! |

The Hwacheon Tomato Festival is a Korean version of La Tomatina held in Valencia, Spain. Visitors engage in child-like fun and frolics, throwing ripe tomatoes at each other. Ancillary events include hunting for gold rings in a tomato-filled swimming pool and soccer field, and other performances. Hwacheon's outstanding natural environment is the ideal place for diverse outdoor activities. Hiking and swimming in the valley in the mountain are particularly recommended. |

The Busan International Film Festival is held in Busan every autumn. It is one of the Top 3 film festivals held in Asia along with those held in Tokyo and Hong Kong. This one-week-long event is a non-competitive film festival that only partly operates competition sections. Here you may spot world-famous actors, actresses, and directors at close range on streets or in restaurants. Duty free shopping in Busan, Korea's second largest city is also another fun activity. So don’t forget to enjoy the benefits offered by the KOREA TOUR CARD at Lotte Duty Free Shop Busan Branch. If you're a movie lover, why not plan a visit to Busan this October? |
